Hopsin Sends a Powerful Message in 'Fly'
Hopsin tricked everyone last year when he led his fans to believe that he would be quitting rap and moving to Australia. The Funk Volume leader pulled the greatest prank of all time in hip hop — only to retract his statement with a hilarious video saying he’s coming back with a new album in 2015.
While Pound Syndrome’s release date is just around the corner (July 24), Hop releases a powerful visual for one of the tracks on the album called “Fly.” He’s built a reputation for speaking the truth in his music. He’s never one to create something that’s lacks a message and “Fly” tells listeners to not fall into corporate America’s tricks, unhealthy vices and getting brainwashed from watching too much television. He wants us to open our minds and live freely rather than to become tempted by society's unnecessary pressures to succeed.
Hopsin’s music doesn’t necessarily fit the sounds of Future and Young Thug — two popular artists who are dominating hip hop today. But you can count on Hopsin to share his wisdom and enlighten you after a few listens.
