Yvette Nicole Brown Announces Engagement To Actor Anthony Davis
Yvette Nicole Brown has a new ring on her finger!
While co-hosting "The View" on Tuesday (Dec. 12), Brown revealed that she recently got engaged to actor Anthony Davis, as reported by PEOPLE. For these entertainers, their connection dates back to their 20s.
"I have some news, and I heard that "The View" is the place to announce things like this. I’m engaged," she said while smiling from ear to ear and showing off her shiny rock.
Her beau also attended the live broadcast to support his lady at the famous roundtable. "And he's here! He's here! That's Tony," she said while pointing him out in the audience.
"She's just the most beautiful person in the world," Davis said while sitting in the front row.
Co-host Sunny Hostin took no time letting Davis how "lucky" he is. "You are one lucky man," she said.
When Hostin asked how they met, the Emmy-nominated actress began peeling back the layers of their relationship.
"We've known each other since we were in our 20s. We were in an acting class together at church years ago," Brown explained. "He's an amazing actor, by the way. Anthony Davis, everybody. He was married at the time, and we were platonic friends, and then we lost touch for a few years."
Following a gap in their friendship, he reconnected with her after Brown's mom died in 2021. "Then he found me," she added while clarifying, "after he divorced."
We know that's right!
Brown credits her late mom, along with Davis’s mom with bringing them back together.
"I feel like my mom and his mom kind of did it," she said. "He’s just wonderful … he’s a nice man, you guys. He’s a nice, kind, loving man."
When Davis popped the big question, it caught Brown by surprise. They were on a trip to visit her hometown alma mater, Warrensville Heights High School in Ohio which, named its auditorium after her in October.
"We were celebrating that, and then [Davis] gave me a [lottery scratch card] and the scratcher said, 'Will you marry me?' " she recalled while quipping, "I thought I was going to win some money and I won a man!"
