Though recently considered one of the top candidates to fill one of two vacant judges slots on The X-Factor, Janet Jackson has ultimately decided to pass on the position.
The pop icon recently told theinsider.com that she's taken herself out of the running due to prior commitments.
"[I'm] very flattered that X Factor let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn't be possible," Jackson said.
The singer said her pending tour, Number Ones Up Close and Personal, and film commitments to Lionsgate prevented her from accepting the gig on the Fox reality singing competition. Judging on the show is typically a months-long commitment or more.
Pink, Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Fergie are all rumored to be in the running for the judges table, where they would fill positions formerly held by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
