Game Wanted for Making Criminal Threats in Hoops Fight
There's a warrant out for Game's arrest.
According to TMZ Sports, the Los Angeles County District Attorney charged the rapper with one count of making criminal threats, stemming from punching an off-duty police officer (Onyebuchi Awaji) during a basketball game in March. It's a felony charge and a judge has issued a warrant for Game's arrest.
Footage that TMZ released clearly shows Game hitting a man in the video, but the celebrity news site claims that the MC was not charged with battery. The felony charge of making a criminal threat came because Game allegedly told the man, "I'm going to kill you."
Game has denied making the threat, claiming the off-duty cop was insinuating to him that he had a gun in his gym bag.
In late March, after the incident, Game said he threw the punch at the off-duty cop during the basketball game in self defense because the officer threatened to shoot him.
The rookie LAPD officer responded days later, in early April, by suing Game, adding that he might have suffered brain damage due to the force of the punch.
