Report: Lamar Odom Unlikely to Be Prosecuted for Drug Possession
While Lamar Odom doesn't seem to be in the best physical space at the moment, his legal situation may be a bit more promising. According to TMZ, the Nye County D.A. in Nevada is backing off the statements made by the Sheriff who reported that the athlete was very likely to be prosecuted for cocaine possession.
It was revealed months ago that Lamar's blood showed that he was high on cocaine when he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in the state. The D.A. will reportedly now consider both Lamar's medical condition and mental state before deciding whether or not to charge him.
After doing some digging, TMZ concluded that while this all looks good on paper, it's very unlikely that the D.A. will let the NBA star off the hook as they could not find a single case in Nye County where someone was prosecuted for cocaine possession when they landed in the hospital with as severe damages as Lamar's. Making matters even worse, Lamar is so far gone, physically and cognitively that he may not even legally be able to stand trial.
