"True Blood" actor Nelsan Elis, who famously plays Lafayette on the Southern vampire drama is trying his hand at directing. 

The trailer for Page 36, Elis' first film where's he's displaying his talents behind the camera, debuted on Shadow and Act. 

According to the black film site, the story follows Roman Wilson is a two time felon recently released from prison. Faced with no positive prospects for employment and a terminally ill child, he is recruited by a company that promises immediate wealth and a new way of life for his family languishing in poverty, but at what cost?

Actors Roger Guenveur Smith, Edi Gathegi, and Sidney Poitier’s daughter,Sydney Tamiia Poitier are a part of the Page 36 cast. No release date for the film at press time, but it's scheduled to make the film festival rounds this year.
