Kamala Harris Says Her Presidency Won’t be a ‘Continuation’ of Biden's in Latest Interview
Democratic nominee Kamala Harris doesn’t plan on using President Joe Biden’s playbook during her presidency.
During a heated interview with Fox News Bret Baier on Wednesday (Oct 16), the Vice President faced tough questions about immigration policy and her differing views from Biden. The sitdown marked her first formal interview on the network.
“Let me be very clear, my presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden's presidency and like every new president that comes into office,” Harris stressed, adding that she will “bring my life experiences, my professional experiences, and fresh new ideas. I represent a new generation of leadership.”
When asked to clarify her statement about wanting to “turn the page,” despite Democrats currently holding the White House, Harris explained that she is focused on “turning the page from the last decade in which we have been burdened with the kind of rhetoric coming from Donald Trump.”
Throughout her campaign, Harris has pledged to appoint a Republican to her Cabinet, unlike her predecessor.
