BET and Urbanworld Partner for Teleplay Script-Writing Contest
Think you could be the next Shonda Rhimes, Bill Cosby or Mara Brock Akil?
Put your talent to the test by entering BET's Teleplay Script-Writing Contest. The network has partnered with Urbanworld, founder of the Urbanworld Film Festival, to find promising writers who will have their teleplay read by industry professionals and BET executives, and have the chance to win $5,000 in the process.
One winner will be selected and announced at the Urbanworld Film Festival in September. Applicants must present scripts with an original idea for a potential TV series. Anyone under 18 or who already has a professional writing gig in Hollywood doesn't qualify.
Submissions will be accepted until June 28, 2013. Applications can be found at www.urbanworld.org. A $35 submission fee is required. Submit your brilliant idea quickly because only the first 200 qualified applications will be accepted.
