Kanye West Performs "Bound 2" on Jimmy Fallon
Kanye West made a semi-surprise appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Monday (Sept. 9) to perform "Bound 2" for the first time live. West was joined by Charlie Wilson, the Roots, and a children's choir as he rocked the crowd wearing an open leather skirt apparatus (with the words "Earth, Wind and Fire" on them) over jeans.
At the start of his set, the new dad defended girlfriend Kim Kardashian's honor with a belated response to her ex Ray J's "I Hit it First" single. "Brandy little sister lame and he know it now/ When a real brotha hold you down, you're supposed to drown," he rapped.
The Chicago native, who splits time on both coasts, was in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week. He hasn't done a ton of promotion for Yeezus, but has been clocking more public appearances than usual lately. Last month he took the MTV Video Music Awards stage for a performance of "Blood on the Leaves" and debuted a photo of daughter North West on Kardashian's mother's talk show.
West is set to hit the road for his first solo tour in five years starting Oct. 19. Tickets go on sale this Friday (Sept. 13).
