Kamala Harris is reportedly making a big fashion statement on Inauguration Day. According to CNN Anchor Ana Cabrera, the Vice President-Elect is wearing a polished monochromatic look by Christopher John Rogers and Sergio Hudson.
So, what makes this ensemble such a monumental moment in fashion (and history)? Well, the soon-to-be Vice President of the United States made it a point to honor Black designers for the historical 59th inauguration.

Christopher John Rogers is a young Black designer from Baton Rouge who has created looks for celebrities including Beyoncé, Ayesha Curry, and Normani. The designer, who is responsible for Kamala’s trench, currently resides in New York City.
Sergio Hudson
Sergio Hudson is a Black designer from South Carolina. His designs have been featured on the likes of Tracee Ellis Ross, Taraji P. Henson, and Issa Rae. The seasoned designer perfectly tailored the VP’s inauguration look.
