The artwork and murals for this portion of the BET Black Canvas Project were produced by ICU Art. ICU Art is a mural production and design company that specializes in work by muralists. Founded in 1993 in Los Angeles, ICU Art or In Creative Unity is co-owned by Jeanna Penn and Stash Maleski. Most of the ICU Art muralists started as street graffiti artists working with spray cans. Today, ICU Art manages teams of artists around the country who paint in their local communities. ICU Art seeks to bring high quality and uplifting public art to the communities in which they paint.
