Chet Haze Says Tom Hanks Wants Him to Stay Off Social Media
Chet Haze is loving all the attention he's getting since declaring himself America's foremost expert on the n-word, but his famous parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson aren't. The rapper says his parents don't say much about his questionable life choices, but they did give him one piece of advice: stay off social media.
Speaking to TMZ on Monday, Chet Money once again sounded off on why it's totally fine for him to use the n-word (to be fair, the TMZ shutterbug asked him about it) and said he identifies with Black culture and hip hop culture. Asked if his parents are cool with his persona, he said, "they don't tell me what to do anymore, because, like, I'm grown, you know what I mean?"
He went on to add, "my parents, they be telling me just to stay off social media period. Even before this [incident] happened, they would be like, 'don't be on Instagram so much,' but they're the old generation. We're the new generation. We do things differently now. Either you're gonna get it or you're not gonna get it."
If Chet means that the old generation relied on their talent — Hanks was already starring in the hit sitcom Bosom Buddies when he was his son's age — rather than click bait comments on social media, then yeah, he's probably right. But we think Tom's 10 million Twitter followers would feel otherwise.
