Jesse Williams Reacts to High Schoolers Using Racist Joke to Ask Another Student to Prom

This is unacceptable.

Last week, two white students from Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, Florida caused outrage when they asked a member of their softball team to prom by way of a racist and insensitive joke.

Actor Jesse Williams has taken to Instagram to share his thoughts on the racism and subsequent rage.

Williams took to Instagram to write, "Trash and tragedy the likes of this requires a great many failures, lies and omissions, working in concert, publicly and privately, to achieve this level of destructive dumbf**kery."

He also, of course referenced Get Out and "The Sunken Place."

Clearly the picture struck a chord with Williams, as it did with many who saw it.

Look back at how Jesse Williams thanked The Obamas with BET Presents: Love & Happiness, an Obama Celebration, above.
