Meek Mill Calls Joe Budden Corny for His Comments on Nicki Minaj
Meek Mill is in a good mood because his album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, sold well over 200,000 copies in its first week.
Like any rapper who has an album out, Meek has been promoting the project through various radio interviews. Today, he appeared on The Breakfast Club with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God, who weren’t shy to go in about his mini-beef with Joe Budden.
“Joe Budden is corny as s**t and always corny as s**t and always commenting on s**t and ain’t never did s**t,” Meek said about the New Jersey rhymer’s comments about his affection for Nicki Minaj. “First of all, don’t be on no podcast commentin’ I’m cool, you not cool. You can’t tell me what people want to see about me. I make n****s want to have girlfriends. You make n****s not want to have girlfriends cause you did it wrong.”
Budden called into Ebro in the Morning yesterday and cleared the air about his statements, saying, “This is what happens on podcasts. You half-heartedly speak on things that might be a hot topic. The awards came on and the camera guy just showed a lot of shots of Meek blissfully smiling in love. I just thought it was interesting. I thought it was funny.”
After some hilarious baiting by Ebro, Budden added, “No, I don’t hate on Nicki and Meek’s relationship at all. Not at all. I support it, if anything.”
It’s up for debate if Meek’s latest comments will escalate their feud to something further. Many rap fans would love to see a rap battle between Meek and Joe, but according to Budden, it wouldn’t be entertaining. “I don’t think it would be a thing. I think Meek has his lane that he’s thriving and he’s successful in and I have my thing, my lane that I thrive and I’m successful in. I don’t think the two mesh very well.”
