After being charged with rape in Las Vegas on Friday, former NFL star Darren Sharper reached a plea agreement Monday that will have him serving a maximum of nine years in prison.

According to TMZ Sports, Sharper, who is facing a series of alleged drug-and-attack cases against him in cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans and the Phoenix area, reached what's called a global plea agreement for his Vegas case, in which he's accused of sexually assaulting two women.

After a Las Vegas judge sentenced Sharper to eight years in prison Monday, an Arizona judge sentenced him to nine years in prison and a Los Angeles judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison. However, the plea deal will have him serving nine years in prison concurrently for all the cases, instead of all the years being added up.

This is crucial because the nine years that Sharper will be allowed to serve concurrently is far less time behind bars than he could have been doing if each case's sentence was counted. A Louisiana judge still awaits to rule Tuesday. 

Altogether, the former All-Pro safety is accused of drugging and attacking 10 women throughout the aforementioned four states.

Sharper, 39, played 14 seasons in the NFL for the likes of the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints, having won a Super Bowl with the Saints in 2010.
