Timothy Bradley Works on Technique and Reaching ‘Peak Performance’
It’s three weeks until fight night, and the anticipation is sinking in. The stakes are incredibly high. But as he prepares to defend his welterweight title, Timothy Bradley has got the anxiety under control.
Bradley checked in with BET.com on Tuesday after his training session to discuss the focal points of this week’s workouts.
“Now everything is pretty much about technique,” Bradley said. “I am ready to go 12 rounds no problem, but the main thing is keeping up with my timing and distance.” Last week, Bradley and his sparring partner focused on defense.
In six strenuous weeks of training, Bradley and his loyal band of supporters, better known as #TeamBradley, have worked together to get ahead of his training schedule.
“Mentally and physically I am ready; there is no need to push any farther,” Bradley said. But while his conditioning is at 100 percent, he said he is not at peak performance this week. "I will be at peak performance in the next couple of weeks, but I just have to frame it right."
Peak performance means being able to go 12 rounds with the energy, defense and technical skills needed to counteract the swift offense of Pacquiao. Bradley did it once, and he is confident that he will do it again.
“Honestly, I think this fight is going to be more explosive than the first fight, due to the circumstances of each fighter,” Bradley said. “Pacquaio has to showcase his talent and really shine in this fight because another loss would be devastating for his career. As for me, I have to be able to maintain my unbreakable record.”

Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2 takes place Saturday, April 12, live on pay-per-view beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
