Lionsgate Sets Release Date for Tyler Perry’s “Good Deeds”
Ready for another Tyler Perry flick? Lionsgate has officially set a release date for the writer/producer’s next movie, Good Deeds. It’ll open in theaters Feb. 24, 2012.
Although Perry's most recent film, Madea's Big Happy Family, has racked up $51.9 million domestically since it opened April 22, there's no sign of Perry's signature character in this next film. Variety.com reports Good Deeds revolves around “a businessman (Perry) who falls in love with a single mother just before he is expected to marry another woman.” Thandie Newton and Gabrielle Union also star. According to Indiewire.com, Brian White also appears in the film as Tyler Perry’s brother, and Phylicia Rashad plays his mother.
Perry is also in pre-production for a new TV show called For Better or For Worse, a spinoff of his 2007 movie Why Did I Get Married.
