50 Cent Throws Horrible First Pitch
The worst ceremonial first pitch in baseball history? Well, if not the worst, 50 Cent is definitely a strong candidate.
The Queens rapper threw out the first pitch for his hometown New York Mets at Citi Field on Tuesday night, and he let it fly just a bit outside. Wearing a No. 50 Mets jersey with ‘Jackson’ on the back and a Mets fitted cap, Fif, wound up and threw a terrible left-handed pitch that sailed way left of home plate. 50 threw his hands in the air and laughed, as the footage of his comical wild pitch almost instantly became a viral hit.
Afterwards, 50 took to his Instagram account and joked: "I'm a hustler not a Damn ball player. LMAO. The s--- almost hit the camera man damn, if you look close you can see them moving the plate. Lol."
50's opening pitch was so terrible that many rap fans took to hip hop blogs' message boards to allege that the rapper purposely threw wildly to generate buzz for his upcoming album, Animal Ambition, which is scheduled for a June 3rd release.
Mets fans certainly hope for a better showing from 'Fif when he throws his postgame concert at Citi Field on June 14th, following the Mets-San Diego Padres game. 50 follows in the footsteps of fellow Queens rapper Nas, who performed a postgame concert at Citi Field last July.
