Local News Station Gets Roasted For Confusing Olympic City Pyeongchang For Chinese Restaurant P.F. Changs
A hilarious mix-up by a local Chicago news station resulted in a new bid for the next Winter Olympic Games to be hosted by a famous Chinese restaurant.
During a Saturday morning broadcast, WLS-Ch.7’s news team discussed the political undertones in the Winter Olympics, which are being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. However, during the segment, the station included a graphic that read: “P.F. Chang 2018.”

Eventually, the P.F. Chang's Twitter page disappointed many hungry Olympic viewers and confirmed they are not hosting the games

The tweet from the popular restaurant did not stop people from putting in a bid for the eatery to host future games
A spokesperson from the news station released a statement to the Chicago Tribune and explained the mistake
Jayme Nicholas, a spokesperson for the ABC affiliate in Chicago, told the Chicago Tribune the graphic was was created for a different “satirical piece” meant to be used by sports anchor Mark Giangreco. The segment was supposed to ask viewers to create their own Olympic sports. However, the graphic was mistakenly swapped in during a serious story.
