Hannibal Buress' standup set late last year is known as the straw that broke Bill Cosby's legacy, but now the comedian says he wants nothing to do with the sitcom star's downfall.

“It’s even worse because Bill Cosby has the f**king smuggest old Black man public persona that I hate,” Buress joked at the time. “'Pull your pants up, Black people. I was on TV in the ’80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom.' Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, brings you down a couple notches.”

Well, the words might've brought down Cosby more than a couple. Since Buress' set, nearly 50 women have come forward with allegations of rape and sex abuse against the TV legend. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly last Friday, Buress explained, he never intended to be the "accidental whistle-blower." 

"[The media] put me too much at the front of that s**t," he said. "I was just doing a show.”

Buress is slated for voice over work next year, in two major computer-animated comedies, Angry Bird and The Secret Life of Pets.
