Jeezy’s Surprise Album, ‘Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision,’ Is Setting The Internet Ablaze
Amid the frenzy of fans gearing up for the first taste of new music from Rihanna in years, another high profile artist came through with their own surprise release as well.
Atlanta’s illustrious trap pioneer Jeezy jumped into the mix of artists dropping off new music on Friday (March 27).
He took to Twitter on Thursday (March 26) where he revealed that he was releasing a new project in less than 24 hours. “You asked.. we answered #Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision #Sno x #ShawtyRedd 3.27.20 MIDNIGHT!! Available on ALL Platforms!” he announced. Along with the announcement, he posted some vintage footage of him and his longtime collaborator, Shawty Reed.
Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision, which spans seven tracks, comes after Jeezy previously dropped off TM104: The Legend Of The Snowman, last summer. According to HypeBeast, the project also marks the rap icon’s first release since he parted ways with his label home of nearly 16 years, Def Jam, in late 2019. Immediately upon the project’s release, Jeezy became a trending topic on Twitter as hip-hop heads rushed to hear what kind of sound he was bringing into the new decade, and he’s just as ice cold as the Twitter streets remember.
“Jeezy got me wanting to commit federal offenses at 8 in the morning,” one person reacted on Twitter.
“Every time the economy messed up, Jeezy drop and make the streets boom,” a second tweeted.
“Dope! @SHAWTYREDDBEATS been a beast. Him and @Jeezy together is like fire and gasoline,” a third weighed in.
