Two Girls Fighting Over a Guy Ends in Grisly Murder
Nine people in Hephzibah, Georgia, have been charged with aggravated assault and felony murder following a fight between two girls that started over "a boy and some racy photos." That fight led to the eventual death of 18-year-old Demajhay Bell, who was stabbed in the neck during a deadly street-brawl that grew into a violent mob of up to 50 people.
Bell was accidentally stabbed by one of his friends, 21-year-old Demetrius Harris, who was caught on camera wildly swinging his knife at another attacker who had broken his arm with a baseball bat. The two girls who started the brawl can be seen in the background.
Watch the violent footage here:
According to 39-year-old Eyvette Byrd, the mother of one of the girls who started the violent clash, as well as Harris, who stabbed his friend, the fight grew out of control when friends and relatives of each side joined in. Byrd and Harris are both among the the nine that have been charged with aggravated assault and felony murder.
At the end of the footage, Bell can be seen running towards a police car clutching his bloody neck. He was rushed to the hospital, but had lost too much blood upon arrival and died after two days of fighting for his life.
Local County Sheriff Richard Roundtree told ABC News, "This is one of the most senseless murders that we've had."
