Despite Donald Trump calling any protesting NFL player a "son of a b***h," those kneeling during the national anthem do have support in this current political sphere.

On Monday, just three days after President Trump made the vile remark, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) knelt on the House floor in a show of solidarity with protesting NFL players.

And the Texas Democrat Congresswoman had some choice words for 45 in the process.

"There is no basis in the First Amendment that says that you cannot kneel on the national anthem or in front of the flag," Lee said, as reported by CNN.

And she was just warming up.

"There is no regulation that says that these young men cannot stand against the dishonoring of their mothers by you calling them to fire the son of a B," she continued. "You tell me which of those children's mothers are a son of a B. That is racism."

She added, as reported by AOL, “I kneel in honor of the First Amendment, I kneel because the flag is symbol for freedom, I kneel because I’m going to stand against racism, I kneel because I’m going to stand with these young men and I’ll stand with our soldiers. And I’ll stand with America because I kneel.”

And Lee received some heavy backing among her peers, as the ultra-revered Rep. John Lewis sent out tweets in support of kneeling NFL players as well.
