Eddie Murphy Says He Once Got Snowed In At Rick James’ House

“It was maybe the most fun I’ve ever had,” the actor shared.

Comedian and actor Eddie Murphy is giving a bit of backstory of the inner workings of his 1985 hit song “Party All the Time,” with Rick James. According to Murphy, if it wasn’t for a snowstorm that forced him to be snowed in at James’ home, the track might not exist.

Appearing on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Murphy said that he went to James' house in Buffalo, NY for a weekend to record the song but ended up getting snowed in for two weeks.

“We were supposed to go up for the weekend. I went up there to record ‘Party All the Time,’” Murphy shared. “It was maybe the most fun I’ve ever had.”

“We were supposed to go there for one weekend and we got snowed in in Buffalo and sometimes it has five feet of snow. And we’re stuck in Rick James’ house for two weeks and it was one of my fondest memories,” he said.
