Earlier this week, Eric Benét set hip-hop emcees and fans into a frenzy when he made claims that Black hip-hop artists are “poisons [within] their communities” while they drop bars about misogyny, vanity and drugs. Specifically saying, “Black rappers with deplorable lyrics are agents of white supremacy.”

Wale responded by saying Benét’s point isn’t the only point to be made, and now Fat Joe has stepped to the mic with an opinion of his own.

The “What’s Luv” lyricist agreed that we’re all entitled to our opinions, but “you have different rappers for different messages. If you’re gonna go and live your life behind a rap song, then you’re the fool. We make gangsta rap, people work out… they get hype to it. It’s a shame [what he’s talking about].”
