Lil Reese Sentenced to 5 Years After Being Found Guilty of Assaulting Family Member
Lil Reese will be spending five years in prison for reportedly assaulting a family member.
According to newly surfaced reports, the 31-year-old Chicago rapper, born Tavares Lamont Taylor, was handed the aggravated assault sentence in Harris County, Texas, on October 16. Reese has a projected release date of February 6, 2029, but will be eligible for parole in August 2026. Footage from the arrest was also made available to view on YouTube.
“AllHipHop” reports that the incident stems from Reese allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend in March 2022, in which he’s said to have punched the woman in the face and strangled her as she was “gasping for air.” Police later documented the woman's apparent injuries after witnesses allegedly broke up the altercation. Two months after an arrest warrant was issued, Reese was detained before being released on a $60,000 bond.
In September, Reese was arrested for allegedly attacking the same woman at Houston nightclub Pinkhouse, where he was said to have repeatedly hit her after she rejected his advances. In July, Reese was accused of rape in Los Angeles before the case was dismissed the following month, which the rapper boasted about on X, formerly Twitter.
“So today was my first court date for the false ass shit that bitch said I did and guess what case dismiss I wanna see they post and put this all around like they did when they said I rapped a lien bitch,” Reese posted on August 8, after the case dismissal.
