The album's cover art is a photo titled “Shadows” from a photographer named Baki, based in Korea. “I chose this album cover image because I feel it represents everything I wanted to convey on my Tree of Lyfe album growth, expression, human connection and support," Jennings said in a statement. “I've always felt people are the tree of life and not success or materialistic things.”

Fronted by the lead single, “Pretty Is,” Jennings describes the album as his most personal to date. Much of the project was recored in his home studio. “Everybody feels like they have to reinvent themselves,” he says of his mindset. “I don’t think you can reinvent the truth. It is what it is. I’m not focused on reinvention. I want to go deeper. This album reaffirms the reasons why people started loving this music in the first place."
To promote the release, Jennings is embarking on a promotional tour which began in New York on April 27. Other dates include Atlanta, Baltimore and Philadelphia.
