By now we know that Beyoncé loves her onesies, but a coveted performance slot on the final episode taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show called for something a little more special. Bey chose a dressier version of her beloved leotard (part sexy and part gender-bending) to sing her empowerment anthem “Run the World (Girls)" for thousands of fans (including  a long roster of celebs) at the United Center in Chicago last night (May 17).

During the performance, Beyoncé championed Oprah, telling the mogul that because of her, "women everywhere have graduated to a new level of understanding of what we are, who we are and who we can be."

The full-length video to accompany the new track premieres tonight, May 18, on American Idol.
