'The Breakfast Club' Recap: Jason Mitchell, Donnell Rawlings and More Joined The Crew This Week

It was a long week of convos and gossip on this week's 'Breakfast Club'. Check out what you missed!

This week Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy teamed up with co-hosts, some new, and some back on the Breakfast Club after a hiatus, to discuss the latest in pop culture. On Monday, actors Jason Mitchell and Barton Fitzpatrick stopped by to discuss the upcoming thriller Black Heat and how this project stresses the importance of creative control for them.

“As an artist and an actor, we need creative control. So independent projects and working alongside people like JaQuavis and being able to prod alongside your friends you're able to control the character and in my experience in acting that’s really important,” said Fitzpatrick.

Jess Hilarious is back to co-host on Tuesday; you already know she comes with the mess. This time around, she brings up an odd tweet from Steve Harvey where he is asking his followers to name a comedian that people don't find funny. Harvey is not usually that messy, so was he hacked or did a new social media manager get ahold of his account?

Anyway, Donnell Rawlins brought in Hump Day with some motivation about how to deal with the grind. He revealed that he has been a comedian for 30 years but has been successful for about 15 years. Now that he is seasoned, he mentors people and says that while it’s easier to get on now thanks to the internet, the most important part of success is what you do during your low moments and how you set yourself up for longevity.

Finally, the week winds down with Michael Bivins stopping by to discuss his new documentary, The Hustle of @617MikeBiv. This is his chance to tell his life story about his aspirations of going into the NBA before New Edition became a reality.
