Iconic Cleveland hip hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have found themselves the target of a new lawsuit. Former associate Roland Brown, who was a writer on the 1996 platinum album Family Scriptures from the group's Mo Thugs Family side project, is seeking $27 million for breach of contract.
Brown says he has not been paid any royalties for the song "Take Your Time," which was the project’s lead single. Aside from the members of Bone Thugs, Sony, Ruthless Records, Relativity, Loud Records, WMG and Mo Thugs Inc. are also listed as offenders.
The news comes in what has already been a difficult month for the melodic hip hop collective. In mid-April, founding member Krayzie Bone announced that he would be leaving Bone Thugs due to "uncontrollable circumstances."
