Isaiah Thomas Tweeted About Outplaying Other Point Guards Last Year, And People Clapped Back Ferociously

"Not this man."

There's no doubt that Isaiah Thomas was a legitimate MVP candidate last season, when he averaged 28.9 points per game and led the Boston Celtics to the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

But when the All-Star point guard, who was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers during the offseason, tweeted yesterday that "people forget and act like I didn't bust they favorite PGs ass all last season LOL," people blasted him with zero chill.

Regardless of whether their arguments were statistically based or not — because IT did have solid games against other All-Star point guards — people used Thomas' tweet as a green light to serve up these GIFs that keep on giving.

  1. Here's the Isaiah Thomas tweet that sparked a wave of side-eye reactions on Twitter

He had to know that people were going to clap back ferociously for this.

  2. Immediately, people began using hilarious GIFs of other All-Star point guards to respond

HA! For the record, IT's then Celtics and Steph Curry's Golden State Warriors did split their regular-season series last year.

  3. Kyrie probably read the tweet and was like ...

That, and let's not forget that Kyrie was, of course, the centerpiece of the trade that sent him to the Celtics from Cleveland for a package including Thomas.

  5. This scowl from John Wall sums up how other point guards might have felt, too

    Gotta love it.

  6. No GIFs were funnier, though, than these of Russell Westbrook

More reasons why the internet remains undefeated.

  7. And because it was Isaiah Thomas and he's 5-foot-9, people had to work in short jokes

    This is just wrong, man.

  9. And they also used I.T.'s tweet to get petty about his defense

Yes, Thomas is definitely known for his explosive scoring and not his defense.
