Denise Vasi to Replace Stacey Dash on Single Ladies
VH1 is putting a ring on it for Denise Vasi. The network has tapped the All My Children star to replace a departing Stacey Dash on the popular series Single Ladies, reports PopularCritic.com.
The series, produced by Queen Latifah and her company Flavor Unit Entertainment, centers on a group of successful career women in Atlanta. In the first season, Dash played Val Stokes, owner of one of the hottest clothing boutiques in town, but unlucky in the love department.
Rather than stepping in to play the role Dash is departing, Vasi will instead play a new character, described by VH1 as a close friend of LisaRaye McCoy's character Keisha Green, a music video model turned professional poker player.
While there have been whispers that tension between Dash and LisaRaye is responsible for Dash leaving the show, the actress said only that she's leaving to spend more time with her family.
“Denise is the perfect addition to the Single Ladies cast,” says Latifah in a statement. "She is bringing a fun, new element to the show.”
