Devastating: Rapper Freeway’s Daughter Harmony Dead At 21
Philadelphia rapper Freeway announced on Sunday (Oct. 24) that his daughter Harmony lost her battle with cancer. She was 21.
“You know the saying sugar and spice and everything nice, well that’s my Harmony! I promise y’all she was the sweetest most kind most caring generous loving adorable person I know,” he wrote in the caption of a video of Harmony celebrating her 21st birthday in February.
He continued: “Allah Really blessed me putting her in my life. I love her so much and this hurts so bad.”
He said Harmony was always upbeat while fighting the disease, “always happy and always smiling and she always brightened up my day.”
“The only thing that’s giving me comfort is I know 100% that she believes in Allah and she was a good person. I truly believe she has everything it takes to enter into heaven. Please keep her in your prayers & please ask God to show her comfort and mercy,” Freeway added.
Best known for being part of State Property, the rap group in the early 2000s that was part of Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records label.
Harmony’s death comes a year after his son Jihad Pridgen, 20, died in October 2020. He was an aspiring rapper who performed as SnowHadd.
Freeway, born Leslie Edward Pridgen, has had his own health issues. In 2015, he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and needed emergency dialysis weekly.
“Listen Life & Death is very real! cherish your love ones & keep them close to you because you never know, we are not promised our next breath. She truly was my best friend and I don’t know what I’m gonna do this pain is unimaginable,” Freeway said about his beloved daughter.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Freeway and his family.
