Normani Signs With New Management and Teases Upcoming Music
Normani has a whole new dream team.
On Monday (August 7), word spread that the singer signed with Brandon Creed and Lydia Asrat after dropping her former manager, Brandon Silverstein, of S10 Entertainment in May, as reported by Rolling Stone.
“With new music on the horizon, and Asrat and Creed now at the helm of her musical career, she and the rest of her team are extremely excited to embark on this new chapter and partnership,” a rep for Normani told the outlet. “She wishes Silverstein all the best.”
For Silverstein, he is also looking toward the future. “Change is good,” Silverstein told the outlet of Normani’s departure in an email. “S10 is headed in another direction and felt like it was time for us to move on. We achieved incredible success together over seven years. We wish her nothing but the best in her future.”
In 2012, Normani first hit the scene as a member of Fifth Harmony when the group competed on the reality singing series The X Factor. The group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2018, so group members could pursue solo careers. Of her decision to chart her own course, she told Entertainment Tonight, “It’s always kind of scary, especially because for the past six years, Fifth Harmony’s all we’ve ever known.” She added, “So, every time we put something out individually, it’s like, ‘Oh shoot! All eyes are on me!'”
But amid her solo career, she has not released an album, rather several singles over the past few years. In 2022, she dropped “Fair”, and was featured on “New to You” with Tinashe and Calvin Harris. She joined Cardi B on “Wild Side” in 2021, and teamed with Megan Thee Stallion for “Diamonds” which was featured on the Birds Of Prey soundtrack in 2020.
Back in June, Normani partnered with Bose to tease her upcoming single “Candy Paint” which she told Billboard “allowed me to show my personality”
“In terms of my career and my music, I know the wait has been extensive but it’s definitely going to be worth it.”
Creed launched his own management company –Good World Entertainment– on August 1. His talent roster includes Mark Ronson, Troye Sivan and Charli XCX, among others.
Asrat was named Forbes’ 30 under 30 in 2022 and currently manages Coco Jones under her 10Q Management company. She co-managed and A&R’d Doja Cat from 2017 until March 2022. She also co-wrote her track “Say So” that went viral in 2019.
