Plaxico Burress Leaves Jail and Joins the Jets \r \r

The former Giant gets back in the game with the New York Jets.

Plaxico Burress has had a whirlwind of a career. He’s been lauded as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, having played stellar games for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, who he helped to win the 2007 Super Bowl.

His career then took an unexpected nosedive when he was arrested and sent to prison for two years in 2008 after pleading guilty to weapons charges. Burress accidentally shot himself in the right thigh while at LQ club in New York City.

Following his recent June 6 release from prison, and much speculation on where the Virginia-native would go, TMZ reports the 33-year-old has signed on with the New York Jets. The $3 million deal is for one year guaranteed.

His timing could not better as the NFL have finally resolved their lockout situation.
