Chad President Idriss Deby won re-election by a landslide last month, according to recently released provisional results, but the nation’s opposition leaders aren’t buying it.

Election officials said turnout for the April 25 vote was 64 percent and that Deby won his fourth term in office with 89 percent of the vote. But opposition officials say that couldn’t be possible, since they’d called for a boycott of the presidential election because of alleged vote rigging during February’s legislative elections, the AFP reports. Turnout has been estimated as low as 20 percent.

Deby has led the country since a 1990 coup, and despite becoming an oil-producing nation in 2003, Chad remains one of the poorest countries in the world.
