African-American Student Leadership Experience to Begin in D.C. Thursday
In an effort to help develop the next generation of African-American leaders, the Bryant Educational Leadership Group will host their third annual African-American Student Leadership Experience in Washington, D.C., at the Renaissance Downtown from Jan. 9 to Jan. 12.
The three-day experience will feature guest speakers including political activist Kevin Powell, political analyst Donna Brazile and record executive Amir Windom. A town hall meeting hosted by Jeff Johnson called "The State of the Black Experience" will kick off the events.
Each year the organization gathers Black high school and college students from across the nation and Nigeria to participate in challenging activities and conversations that will give them the basic skills to make change in our communities. The theme for this year's gathering will be "iLead: Back 2 Basics...Beyond Mobilization towards Transformational Leadership."
