Wal-Mart Employees Are Posting Pics of Their New Uniform Capes and, Surprisingly, People Are Feeling It
As stores start ramping up their back-to-school promotions, Wal-Mart is turning heads with its most recent superhero-themed campaign.
The campaign is called "Own the School Year Like a Hero," and the company says it has designated several employees to act specifically as "Back-to-School Helpers."
"It takes a superhero to know a superhero!" a Wal-Mart spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. "Our associates are helping customers zoom through the check-out line and get any items they forgot in a flash so kids can go back to school feeling like a superhero."
And the best part about being a back-to-school helper is the uniform
The "helpers" were given capes to wear by the company. Kennedy, a 21-year-old college student from Arkansas, posted a photo of herself wearing the cape and it quickly went viral.
Some other Wal-mart employees also posted photos with not-so-happy captions about the capes
While other employees seemed to love sporting the bright yellow accessory

Some people on social media were shocked to see the 'cape thing' was real
It did not take long for people to start admitting they want a cape
Really, really want a cape
Kennedy, who orignally posted her photo, said the positive response made her no longer embarrassed about the cape.
"Surprisingly, everybody is having a lot of fun with them, from the managers on down to the cashiers and the stockers," Kennedy told Buzzfeed. "We've been running up and down the aisle just to make our capes fly and calling ourselves the 'Super Clerks,' so it's been really fun."
