Russell Westbrook Has the Pre-Game Routine of a 5-Year-Old
Russell Westbrook might be the most high-energy player in the NBA.
But the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard slows it all the way down for his pre-game rituals.
When asked what some of his pre-game habits are during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Westbrook rolled out a list of things that resemble a kindergartener's routine more than that of an NBA superstar's.
Westbrook told Kimmel that he takes an hour nap before waking up and having a "peanut butter jelly sandwich" with "Skippy" being his go-to brand for peanut butter.
Wait...it gets better.
"The bread has to be toasted — wheat bread, strawberry [jelly] — it has to be cut in half," Westbrook said. "Sometimes I put a little butter on the bread as well, too. It depends. And then after that, I'm pretty set for the game. I call my parents and everybody else I need to call before the game and that's about it."
Russell being Russell.
