T-Pain Honored with the Key to the City in Tallahassee
T-Pain is getting the ultimate hometown honor, a street renamed in his honor.
On Sunday (Nov. 10), Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey presented the Grammy-winning artist with a key to the city, celebrating his contributions to music and his impact on the community.
In a post on X, Mayor Dailey shared, “Today, I had the incredible honor of presenting @TPain with the Key to the City in recognition of his contributions to music and his ongoing commitment to this community.”
Dailey continued, “As a hometown hero, T-Pain has inspired countless fans and artists worldwide, and we’re proud to call him one of our own. To further celebrate his legacy, we’ve named ‘T-Pain Lane’ in his honor. Thank you, T-Pain, for making us #TallahasseeProud!”
Before receiving the key, the “I’m Sprung” singer was celebrated with a special street dedication. During the ceremony held at the Walker Ford Community Center, city officials unveiled the new "T-Pain Lane" street sign, which replaced Pasco Street—a location just a block away from Florida A&M University.
The proposal to rename the street was first introduced in August and was approved in September.
Following the unveiling, T-Pain capped off the celebration with a live performance at The Adderley Amphitheater, part of Leon County’s bicentennial festivities at Cascades Park.
