Tomi Lahren's Fox News Colleagues Criticize Her On Twitter For Asking Kamala Harris If She Slept 'Her Way To The Top'

"Do you have any idea how damaging this is to women who’ve actually been sexually harassed," Britt McHenry said.

Tomi Lahren found herself in hot water with her conservative colleagues on Fox News after she made disparaging and sexist remarks about California Senator Kamala Harris.

During the second night of the Democratic debates, Tomi Lahren took a below-the-belt hit at Harris for once dating former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown in the '90s.

  • "Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown?" Lahren tweeted.

While this is not the first time Lahren tweeted about Harris’ former relationship with Brown, this is the first time other women of Fox News have called out the young conservative for the tweet.

  • “I am curious to know what you think bringing a woman’s personal/sexual life into this accomplishes,” Fox News libertarian commentator Kat Timpf replied. “Men do that to us enough as it is. I’m honestly asking.”

Other Fox News employees called out Lahren for championing sexist language that would have been reported to HR if anyone else had made the comment.

  • “If a male contributor had tweeted this they would probably be suspended with a trip to HR. Pretty disgusting, Tomi. Are clicks and retweets worth demeaning women? Would you do the same to a 'conservative' female candidate?” tweeted Janice Dean, a meteorologist for Fox & Friends.

  • “Do you have any idea how damaging this is to women who’ve actually been sexually harassed, assaulted or demeaned in the workplace? How much this weakens our own gender, regardless of partisanship. My goodness,” wrote Fox Nation host Britt McHenry.

Despite facing backlash over the comment, Lahren doubled down by tweeting an article suggesting Brown also takes responsibility for Harris’ career.

  • “I didn’t make this up. Willie Brown admitted it. The truth hurts,” she tweeted.

After a day full of criticism, Lahren eventually walked back her comments and issued an apology.

  • “I apologize for my comment on Kamala’s personal relationship. It was the wrong choice of words. There are many other things to take her to task for and I will stick to those,” she wrote.
