Bill Cosby Finally Has a Good Day

She's doing better in court than her husband.

Bill Cosby has two less problems to deal with in court this year.

First, a California appeals court ruled that Janice Dickinson, one of the women to accuse Cosby of sexual assault, has no right to force the TV icon into a deposition in her defamation lawsuit against the comedian — at least for now.
Dickinson claims that Cosby sullied her name by claiming she was lying about alleged sexual misdeeds he committed against her. She has been trying to force Cosby to take the oath and discuss an alleged incident in which, she says, Cosby drugged and raped her in 1982. The court ruled Dickinson has no right to pursue her case until Cosby has a chance to argue the whole claim. He's currently facing criminal charges for his alleged assault of former Temple University employee Andrea Constand.

But that's not all the "good" news: two potential instances of criminal charges against Cosby have been dropped after the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced that there was not enough evidence to back accuser Chloe Goins’s claim that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Cosby at a Playboy Mansion party in 2008.
The model, 25, claimed that when she was 18 she attended a party and was assaulted by the comedian, but investigators who reviewed security footage from the day of the alleged assault saw no sign of Goins or Cosby, and further found evidence that Cosby was in New York on the weekend of the event.

The prosecutor also declined the charges of a second woman’s claim that she was drugged and raped in 1965 by Cosby, saying that the statute of limitations had expired.

When asked about the recent court rulings, Cosby’s attorney said, “We are pleased that the legal issues we brought to the Court of Appeal were fairly heard and ruled upon in our favor.”
Things seem to be working in the comedian's favor, relatively speaking. Earlier this week, a judge ruled that Cosby’s wife, Camille Cosby, could postpone her deposition in his defamation lawsuit, giving her time to appeal.
