More Trouble for Johnny Manziel
If Johnny Manziel's life has already hit rock bottom, consider this the rubble underneath.
TMZ Sports is reporting that the investigation into the troubled NFL quarterback's alleged assault of his girlfriend is being sent to a grand jury, which will decide whether to bring charges against Manziel.
"The investigation of the domestic violence assault involving Jonathan Manziel, which occurred on January 30, 2016, has been completed," the Dallas Police Department announced Thursday, as reported by TMZ. "Today, a Class A misdemeanor Assault/Domestic Violence case has been referred to the Dallas County District Attorney’s office for presentation to the grand jury. The Dallas Police Department will not release any details of the investigation while it is pending grand jury presentation."
Colleen Crowley already informed police that Manziel hit her in the head several times during a heated argument. The Cleveland Browns QB hit Crowley so hard that she ruptured her eardrum.
As part of the investigation, officials reviewed surveillance footage from the hotel that the incident occurred in, although they haven't revealed what they saw on the video.
The case being sent to a grand jury comes after the Cleveland Browns had to deny a report that he was hung over during a December 30 team meeting.
And that came after Manziel's father, Paul Manziel, told the Dallas Morning News that his son twice refused to enter rehab and if he doesn't get help "he won't live to see his 24th birthday."
This is well past football. In fact, it has nothing to do with football anymore, as Manziel may never get an opportunity to play in the NFL again.
This is about a young man's life spiraling out of control. The guy needs help.
