Chadwick Boseman: Celebrities Respond To News Of The ‘Black Panther’ Actor’s Sudden Death
No other actor is so intensily embedded in our minds as a super hero other than Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther. Shocking news of his passing on Friday, August 28 hit Hollywood and fans of his films like a ton of bricks. It was confirmed on the actor’s social media accounts that the 43-year old star had passed away at home with his wife and family after battling colon cancer for the last four years. He was originally diagnosed in 2016 with stage 3 which eventually got worse and manifested into stage 4.
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy,” read the statement on his social media.
Boseman did not publicly disclose his illness. A Howard University grad, Boseman was known for playing historial greats like Jackie Robinson in 42 and James Brown in Get On Up, but playing, King T’Challa in the Marvel blockbuster Black Panther cemented him on the map towards greatness.
