Jadakiss Thinks DMX Can Make Another It's Dark and Hell Is Hot
Jadakiss has finally locked down a release date for his album, Top 5 Dead or Alive. It’s set to drop on Nov. 20, and the first single, “You Can See,” features Future.
During his promotional run for T5DOA, Jada stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk about the album, growing up in Yonkers, his thoughts on Meek Mill vs. Drake and more.
Right off the bat, Jada promises his fans that he’ll be releasing a follow-up album right after T5DOA. “I’m gonna drop two albums in one year — something that I’ve never did before.”
Later on in the interview, Jada shares some thoughts on DMX, who he has seen recently in the studio with Swizz Beatz. “That’s a beautiful thing to have the Dog back. That’s the kind of energy YO [Yonkers] needs. Believe it or not, he’s somebody that can get a lot out of YO. With the right supervision and the stars aligned, he could make another It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot … he can make that type of music being around there.”
He added, “You can best believe you’ll hear some joints from the Dog and the God MC and LOX and the family and all that. Swizz is just getting everything together.”
At the end, he reflects on a time when rappers had to actually battle each other with back and forth diss tracks. If you recall, Jada has beefed with G-Unit and Beanie Sigel in the past. He talks about those instances too.
