Latto Talks About Having Plastic Surgery and being Criticized for Her Appearance

The Atlanta rapper said that critics said she was 'shaped like her white side' before the procedure and criticized her afterwards

Latto opened up about dealing with online trolls who have relentlessly criticized her physical appearance.

On her Apple Music show 777 Radio, the 24-year-old talked with her sister Brooklyn Nikole about her body being described as shaped "like an old white woman." The rapper then expressed that she decided to have plastic surgery saying she “got a little work done” on her body. She continues, “One thing about it, if you going to do it, do it right. I’m going to do it right. I did it right.

Per Complex, the Atlanta native said that even surgery wasn't enough for her critics. “When I didn’t have my surgery, they’re like, ‘Oh, she shaped like her white side.’ … And then when I got the surgery, it is, ‘Oh she’s botched. Oh it’s too heavy.’”

While she didn't express regret, she did advise that surgery is not "a permanent fix," and encouraged women to be confident in their bodies.

“I’m telling you from someone who’s been there, done it, find peace within your natural state. Because you’re going to find a flaw and another flaw and another flaw and another flaw.”

The Grammy-nominated rapper continued, “I’m a very much advocate for women in general. Surgery, natural, whatever. However you want to play it, just make sure that’s what you are comfortable with, but I just think surgery is so popular now. That’s the most thing I be trying to remind you of. Don’t be so gullible for the social media traps and whatever, because you never going to be good enough for the outsider’s eye.” adding, “You’re never going to win. So just find peace within yourself, whatever you want to do, do that.”

Latto had previously been called out for possibly body-shaming Coi Leray in a song with the lyrics, “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.”

But, the potential beef ended quickly when Latto addressed the online rumors from the stage at Coachella saying, “Aye, Coi, by the way, I love your body, baby.”
