Steve Harvey Says He’s Retiring Next Year
While answering listener questions on his radio show, The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Steve Harvey gave fans some surprising news: He’s quitting standup comedy next year. With several gigs still on his plate — from hosting Family Feud to running his radio show — it’s certainly not a true retirement, but fans will surely miss seeing the king of comedy live. The star, who won BET’s Humanitarian Award at BET Awards ’11, was answering a letter that asked about a rumor that he was leaving his syndicated radio show. Harvey emphatically denied that he was quitting radio. “This is my Jamaican background. I don’t quit no job. No, sir. That’s not me,” Harvey said, according to Eurweb.com.
Harvey says his final standup performance will be when he hosts the 2012 Hoodie Awards, which honors local African-American businesses and community leaders for their contributions to their neighborhoods. The show is held annually in August.
