Camaraderie among rap icons: we love to see it.

 Roxanne Shanté and Lil Kim were giving each other their flowers during Shanté’s SiriusXM radio show. The two legends each acknowledged the other’s contributions to Hip Hop.

“First of all, bows to the Queen Roxanne Shanté,” said Kim. “When I first came out I used to always mention you. You were so inspiring to me and a major part of why I started doing what I did.”

After receiving the praise, Shanté flipped it back on to the Queen Bee, letting her know she’s opened up so many doors for artists after her.

“When I sit back and think back about where so many women in hip hop went, the level you took it to allowed so many others after you,” she said. “You controlled the fashion aspect of it and no one does it like you. The pressure you put on me, I can’t keep up with you.”
