2022 NAACP Image Awards: 5 of the Funniest Moments from ‘black-ish’ Star and ‘Outstanding Youth’ Nominee Miles Brown
Miles Brown is perhaps most notable for his role as Jack, the youngest of the Johnson family, in ABC’s hit comedy series black’ish. However, the 17-year-old’s talent supersedes his skills on screen. The California native has been known to rap a bar or two and is also a phenomenal dancer.
At the 2022 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, February 26, 2022, which will be hosted by fellow black’ish star Anthony Anderson, Brown will see if he has what it takes to home the win for his outstanding youth performance. With the ceremony just a few short weeks away, check five times Brown made us laugh as his character Jack on black’ish.
The Jack Attack
In this vintage episode of black’ish, the youngest Johnson shows his basketball teammate his signature move, the “Jack Attack.” As his television dad, Andre Johnson, puts, “the brother is the truth.”
Jack is funny
Grandma Ruby, played by legendary actress Jenifer Lewis may find young Jack’s wisecracks and viral dance moves funny, but not everyone in the Johnson household is laughing.
Jack's Fears
Jack may think he suffers from an unfortunately long list of “fears,” including being accompanied to the restroom at soul food restaurant– further clarified by his sister Diane, portrayed by Marsai–but his aunt Rhonda, played by former child star Raven-Symoné believes the only thing Jack may be afraid of is Black people.

Jack has to break up with his mom
A mother’s bond with her children is unbreakable. Still, in this hilarious episode titled “Things Done Change” from season seven, Jack is forced to break up with his mother, played by actress Tracee Ellis Ross, after their mother-son bonding activities were getting a bit too much to handle. Luckily his older brother Junior is here to help him through the way.
Jack wants to be tall
The youngest Johnson finds himself down in the dumps after getting cut from his basketball team and fears his height might be the source behind his bad luck. As his siblings help him research human growth hormone to help fix his dilemma, Jack imagines a world where he is tall.
