Donald Sutherland on Obama: "He's Dealing With a Society That's More Racist Than I Ever Believed"
Hollywood icon Donald Sutherland, 78, once said that he had been waiting his whole life for our nation's first Black president. Five years later, with President Obama facing challenges from both Congress and his constituents, Sutherland believes the president has faced undue opposition to his agenda. "It's terrible. He's dealing with a society more racist than I ever believed," the actor says.
As President Snow in Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Sutherland takes a drastically different approach to handling dissidents in his districts. The actor discusses what kind of politician the dictatorial Snow would be in today's Congress, plus tells us what would be his first big policy change if he were president of the United States.
Check out our exclusive interview with the veteran actor below, and see Hunger Games: Catching Fire when it hits theaters on Friday, November 22.
